In Europe, to show what country a car is from they use a white oval with a letter or tow in the middle in black type.

Simple. Functional as all get-out.

The Euroval is clean. It's sophisticated. It's to the point.  No wasted energy. The Euroval's problem: There's only room for a few letters.
