I admit this is weird, Something that's not visual is bugging me . . .

. . . and I'm going to talk about it here. Well, this comic is called ''On My High Horse,'' so what can you expect?

Okay. There's this metallic sound of woices in country-western songs, what with that?

I think I first heard the effect in a Madonna song. It's very robotic. Kinda buzzy.

It sounds to me like a voice played through a wax-paper-wrapped comb.

The effect is used when voices sing really high. . .

. . .makes me think the effect is used to correct out-of-tune singing.

Whenever I hear that buzz-singing I think, ''Another pop star who can't hit the notes.''
