'I confess'

A couple of times now, someone who doesn't know much about comics tells me a cartoonist is copying my 'style.'

It's always some Chris Ware comic. In truth, I'm copying Ware.

But I'm also copying a bunch of other guys, It's time for me to come clean.

J.D. King was doing this circle-and-straight-line-thing long before Adobe Illustrator. Long before me.

Charles Schulz is the master of the big round head and small body. Sorry, Sparky.

The Beer Frame fanzine critiqued everyday stuff. I liked the idea. So I took it.

R. Crumb's white guys in suits are so much funnier than mine ... it shames me to even mention his name in my comic.

And finally, Herge's clean-line drawings. Hey, I'm doing what he'd be doing -- you know if he'd had a computer.
